MERRY CHRISTMAS

&

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We arrived in a snowy white Sweden just as he hoped for when we took off from a 17 degree Israel. Out with the sledge and on with ALL the clothes and then when you think you are ready there are more clothes. But once outside it is surely worth it. There is nothing as fun as playing in the snow.. and then warm up inside with a hot cup of tea.

We wish you all a fun and relaxing holiday!

LIFE GOES ON..

There is Chrismastimes now in Sweden and I can´t believe it. Here on the other hand we have warm summerlike days sometimes rain but not alot... we need more though.

The only thing that reminds me of Christmas in this country is Noams Puzzel. Everyday he opens a new parcel with 4 pieces of puzzel. 24 Parcles until Christmas Eve.

I am trying to get life together here and I feel every day that passed by is easier than the last one.. I listen to good music when I am home with Alma during the days going down to the ceramis studio when she sleeps (and I am not busy with something else)..folding laundry and playing with her when she is awake...My friend Liron introduced me to a group of Pardes-Hanna mothers that I started seeing a little. I feel happy and looking forward to going home for real Christmas soon very soon.

KNITTING AND BAMBA

I started knitting again... I was inspired by my niece Moa and a book I got from Petra to start again. Thank you for that! It makes me soo hooked that I sometimes forget what Alma is doing. Today when I realised she had been quiet for a while I saw she found the Bamba (the Israeli snack.. not the Swedish canteen). That explains...

GARDEN DAY

A while ago we had a garden day in Noams kindergarten. It was a fun day and it is always great to see a little bit more of the place Noam spend some of his days.

Since our computer is playing games with us right now.... I can´t be bothered to write alot (coffee with sugar is not good for the computer!).. but here are some pics!

It is supposed to be autumn now...(or is it already winter!?) well for me it feels like the best summer days. No matter the season I created my own autumn view today with a little help from my Finnish friend Marimekko.

TV = SURVIVAL

.
Today Noam and I have been sick, Noam had the ear infection... again... And this time he was really suffering, the poor child cried and cried unless I put the TV on, so as you can imagine the TV was working quite hard today.. thank you TV! (actually I am not proud of it, but sometimes it is the best thing to do..) Alma have been so great today, she quite liked to have Noam around all day.

RAIN IN ISRAEL

Today we have rain and thunder in Israel, it seems for you Swedes like a bad thing, but here it is really needed. We hope for rain all day and then a little more... When I woke up and heard the rain on the roof I almost felt like I was home again. The hot days are over for this period, it is nice, and I feel good.

I have used my pottery wheel for the first time, I almost can’t believe I have my own pottery wheel! So if I am not updating the blogg so frequent you know why!

VISIT FROM SWEDEN! and GOOD NEWS

.
This weekend I had Petra and her college, Sofie, over for the weekend. Petra had to make an "urgent" visit to a supplier in Tiberias, and funny enough she had to do it after I moved here AND to stay for the weekend! Thank you Mölnlycke!
.
It was unbeleivable great to have her over, and so soon after we moved, I feel so lucky! We spend some time at home with the kids, so they could get some quality Petra-time. We visited Cessariya on friday, TelAviv on friday night to eat in my favorite restaurant Bar Giyora and Akko on saturday. And ofcourse visitors means lots and lots of food, talk and relax. She left today and I was soooooo sad to say goodbye, crocodile tears... But how happy I am to have such good friends in my life!
.
And now to the good news, Oh yes there are a few of them also!
.
1. Our container arrived, so finally after waiting and waiting we now have a house full with furniture, books, toys, and all the other useless stuff that I love.
.
2. We have bought a car... a wonderful Toyota Corolla with AC!.. This makes life so much easier. (But ofcourse I managed to bump into the neighbours car already the second day, WHEN he was watching.. I was waiting for that beep we had on the Renault in Sweden, but it didn´t come.. Now I know there is no reverse beep on this car!)
.
3. We have TV, internet AND a phone! My oh my how good can life be?!
.
We are getting TV and internet! (Alma charmar den snälla teknikern så han installerar TV mottagare för oss helt olagligt, vi hade tänkt vänta med det ett tag, men nu har vi TV gratis istället. Ibland är det bra med lite balagan!)
.
.
.
...and with the paper we have sooo much fun!

HOT HOT HOT

.
This weekend it is supposed to be 35 degrees! Ooohaa, I don’t like these temperatures, but what to do?! This morning we decided to pack early and go to the beach before the hottest hours around noon, we left at 8, and had a few nice hours in Caesarea beach, then we drove home sandy, sweaty and dirty in our car (the one we borrow until we have bought one of our own) without AC.. It was so nice to have a cold shower at home!.
.
I miss Sweden and all of my friends and family, I hear you have minus in the mornings now and believe it or not, sometimes I am jealous, I like the autumn in Sweden. But okey I don’t miss the rain and scraping the ice from the window on the car in the morning...

Here are some photos from our day:

EUCALYPTUS AND CACTUS

.
Since the furniture havn´t arrived yet, and I can´t do any furnishing more than in my mind, I try to put my hands on the garden. Planning what to grow and fixing up what already is. Not that I have a slightest idea about gardening in this hot country, but I use my imagination and hope it will work. Future will tell... We have a few really large eucalyptus trees in the garden, they make great shadow and loose lots and lots of leaves, almost like autumn in Sweden. In a corner beside the entrance door I found some old and tired cactuses, I cleaned it up and put there some white stones.. now it lookes like this:

KITCHEN VIEW

.
.
I always thought there is something appealing with a window above the kitchen sink, I never had one but now I do! Yaron have been going on about how important is it for us to have a dishwasher while I havn´t felt that it is so urgent. I think it must be because of the view from the window. There I watch my neighbour in flowery dresses working in the garden. Other neigbours coming and going for work, children playing on the street. Maybe one of these neighbours will be my friend if I just go out there and invite them. It is a big step for a swedish girl!

OUR HOUSE

.
So after cleaning the house as the Israelis havn't invented "flyttstädning" (a big cleaning of the house before moving out) we are starting to feel quit good here. We are now fighting against some ants and I am quite sure we will win!
.

I was soo happy to find that we have passion fruit in the garden! They have the most beautiful flower that I have been trying to take a photo of some days now, but they flower for short time that it is hard to catch them, this mornig I managed.
.
Here are some pictures from us:
